New repeater, Prairie Peak

Postby K7TVL on Sat Aug 01, 2009 11:20 pm

We have another repeater that has joined the Oregon Connection fleet. 443.500 located on the famous "Prairie Peak", 3,350Ft near Junction City on HW 36. This location has good general Valley coverage in the South Portland, Salem, Eugene/Springfield areas. Also on the Oregon Coast in Florence, Waldport, Newport and other areas. Once we get Marys Peak linked again (Uh....) these two sites will work together well.

Greetings,
This is my first post to the forum. I'm not much of a rag chewer. I'll be on the support team (SAG wagon) for the Alpine Century Ride (bicycle 100 miles http://www.alpinecommunity.net/pg23.cfm) this Saturday (8/15). I thought I'd use the new Prairie Peak repeater and test out the coverage since I'll be in some of those deep holes in Lobster Valley and around southern and western Benton Co.

No problem testing Prairie! The system is in somewhat low power mode right now running 40 watts... That will later be changed to 100 watts in the next month or so..... Let us kow what you find!
